Job summary

Serco Group in Dubai Airports is seeking an Assistant Technician Power Distribution – Low Voltage to perform preventative, corrective and breakdown maintenance on LV/MV power distribution assets, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.

The role requires reading electrical drawings, safety compliance, and delivering high standards of English communication. You will work under supervision and gain exposure to industry-leading electrical maintenance practices.

Qualifications

• High School Certificate or ITI Diploma in Electrical Maintenance or equivalent.
• IOSH Working Safely Certificate or equivalent.
• Current UAE driving license desirable.
• Minimum three years' experience in structured cabling or similar.
• Airport experience is an added advantage.
• Very good spoken and written English.
• Ability to communicate in English with staff, stakeholders and customers.
• MS Office knowledge (Word/Excel/PowerPoint).
• Ability to perform MV/LV electrical work with LOTO and PM routines.

Responsibilities

• Conform to all safety requirements to protect health and safety at work.
• Carry out readings and interpretation of electrical drawings and schematics.
• Perform Ring Main Unit tests, fuse replacement and maintenance of components.
• Conduct MV transformer tests and maintain internal components.
• Maintain LV/MV switchgear; perform earth testing and thermal imaging surveys.
• Execute preventive, corrective, breakdown maintenance and condition-based maintenance.

We are looking for Assistant Technician Power Distribution – Low Voltage to carryout preventative, corrective and breakdown maintenance on Low voltage power distribution related systems and assets individually or as part of a technical team, whilst ensuring minimal disruption to the business operations.

An ideal candidate should carry out all technical and safety rules to ensure compliance with business standards.

The role will be based in Dubai Airports.

Key accountabilities

• Ability to conform to all general and technical safety requirements at all times to ensure the health, safety & welfare of self and others at work
• Any other work as assigned by the electrical supervisor/duty engineer to achieve the purpose
• Can read interpret and describe the functionality of electrical drawings (circuit and wiring diagrams/schematic and layout drawings) irrespective of manufacturer
• Ring Main Unit Functional tests, Replacement of Fuses, inspection and maintenance of internal components.
• MV Transformer functional tests and inspection and maintenance of internal components.
• Intrusive & non-intrusive maintenance on LV/MV switchgears, Earth Testing Programs and Thermal image surveys
• Asset Maintenance experience;Periodic Preventive Maintenance, Breakdown Trouble Shooting, Inspections, Condition Assessment, Condition Based Maintenance, Corrective Maintenance, Configuration and Modifications

Specific requirements

• High School Certificate or Industrial Training Institute Diploma (3-year duration) in
• Electrical Maintenance or equivalent (post high school)
• IOSH Working Safely Certificate or equivalent
• Current valid UAE driving license is desirable
• Minimum three (3) year experience within Structured Cabling environment or similar.
• Airport experience is considered as added advantage for this position
• This position requires a very good level of spoken and written English.
• Ability to communicate with staff, stakeholders and customers in oral and written English.
• Working knowledge in MS Office (Word / Excel / Power point)
• Ability to perform safely and correctly the following on Medium Voltage (MV) & Low voltage (LV) equipment and systems:
  Electrical Isolations and LOTO,Planned preventative maintenance (PM) routines,Corrective maintenance (CM),Breakdown maintenance (BD)
