Summary

As an Assistant Restaurant Manager you are responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant to ensure that guests receive exceptional service and the restaurant runs smoothly. The role requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of service standards, and the ability to effectively manage the restaurant team. The Floor Manager ensures that the team meets operational goals, handles guest complaints professionally, and maintains the highest levels of hospitality in line with the Banyan Tree brand.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant ensuring that service standards are met.
  • Monitor and manage the quality of food and beverage service to ensure consistency and excellence.
  • Ensure smooth coordination between the kitchen, front‑of‑house staff, and other departments to deliver a seamless guest experience.
  • Manage reservations, waitlists, and table assignments efficiently.
  • Ensure the restaurant is well‑stocked and that inventory levels are maintained appropriately.
  • Supervise and support the restaurant team—including servers, hosts, and other service staff—to ensure they adhere to service standards.
  • Assist in the recruitment, training, and development of staff to ensure they deliver exceptional service.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to staff to enhance performance and ensure high operational standards.
  • Assist in scheduling and ensuring proper staffing levels are maintained, particularly during peak periods.
  • Ensure that guests receive excellent service and that their needs are anticipated and met.
  • Handle guest inquiries, requests, and concerns promptly with a focus on problem‑solving and guest satisfaction.
  • Address guest feedback—whether positive or negative—and take immediate action to resolve any issues.
  • Promote guest loyalty by creating memorable experiences and building relationships with repeat customers.
Qualifications

Experience/Certificates/Education

  • Experience: Minimum of 1‑2 years in a supervisory/leadership role in restaurant operations, preferably in a high‑end restaurant or a luxury hospitality environment.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, business administration, or a related field.
  • Skills & Attributes:
    • Strong leadership and people‑management skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
    • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
    • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
    • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
    • Strong understanding of food and beverage trends, menu development, and service excellence.
    • Proficiency in relevant software and MS Office Suite.
    • Professional and well‑presented at all times.
    • Customer‑centric approach with a passion for hospitality.
    • Proactive problem‑solver with a solutions‑oriented mindset.
    • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
