Assistant Resident Engineer Structural (Bridges/Underpasses) - Operation & Maintenance
Abu Dhabi

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Assistant Resident Engineer Structural (Bridges & Underpasses) to join our Operations & Maintenance team in Abu Dhabi. In this role, you are assigned the responsibility of providing all necessary on- site guidance for structural works.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Ensure All plans are approved as per procedures and DOA matrix.
  • Monitor Progress and identify potential issues that may impact timelines or quality.
  • Monitor projects related progress of work.
  • Follow up the closure of all competed projects.
  • Review the Draft Variation orders before submitting to the Governance team.
  • Review the Draft Work Orders before submitting to the Governance team.
  • Monitor the tendering plan and report the Tendring progress.
  • Take a part in tendering evaluation for all tenders in the technical departments.
  • Primarily Concerned with Designing and Constructing Structures that are safe and Capable of withstanding the elements to which they will be exposed as well as improving the structural integrity of existing Structures.
  • Assist the resident Engineer to issue the site instructions ( SOR/NCR) with respect to civil and structural works and associated items.
  • Job Originator for ADM for the related Structural Works.
  • Leading and reviewing design calculations and bridge design through utilization design and CAD software as per AASHTO LRFD or any other equivalent Standard.
  • Reviewing Non-Standard Structure Details for unique and complex Structures including highway and railroad bridges.
  • Review and action contractor’s submittals which includes but is not limited to (i) Shop Drawings (ii)Technical Submittals (iii)Test Reports (iv) Progress Reports (v) Method of statements (vi) Documents Transmittals (vii)post-tensioning reports, (viii) Materials Submittals, (ix)Post-tensioning elongation calculation (x) RFI
  • Preparing contract bid Documents including final plans specification and cost estimates for Structural WO’s.
  • Visiting Project sites to perform bridge inspections, verify existing conditions during maintenance, and provide construction support engineering.
  • Coordinating with other disciplines within the transportation department including but not limited to design, Survey, Roadway, Drainage and planning.
  • Prepare technical and cost proposals.
  • Maintaining continuous inspections of works at site and issuing the Necessary remedial notes for any defected works observed ( Site Memo or NCR ).
  • Mentoring Junior Engineers and Inspectors.
  • Development of Construction plans, cost estimates, specifications and bid Documents.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized University.
  • Must have an equivalency certificate clearly mentioning the Degree from the Ministry of Education in UAE.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in general in Maintenance of Structures (Bridges & underpasses) for projects in UAE.
  • Must have sound knowledge about contractual relationships.
  • Must be fully computer literate and able to utilize computer technology to access data, maintain records, generate reports, etc.
