Job description

Description : The Assistant Resident Engineer will support projects related to Stormwater & Drainage, Flood Alleviation, Wastewater Networks, Water Distribution Networks, Pumping Stations, and Recycling Plants. Responsibilities include investigations, planning, designing, tendering, contract administration, and supervising & monitoring construction activities. The role is based in Abu Dhabi.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Technical Delivery
  2. Assist the Resident Engineer in managing daily utilities works, coordinating with contractors, subcontractors, laboratories, and monitoring construction progress.
  3. Coordinate with government departments, contractors, consultants, and the public to facilitate project progress and prevent delays.
  4. Maintain logs of project progress, handovers, and final accounts.
  5. Organize and record progress meetings with utility service authorities and other stakeholders.
  6. Review shop drawings, design proposals, method statements, and related correspondence; prepare review responses.
  7. Prepare instructions, specifications, reports, and cost estimates.
  8. Coordinate scheduling and resource application with contractor engineers.
  9. Supervise inspectors and surveyors as applicable.
  10. Review and approve design documents and construction plans.
  11. Assist in preparing progress reports and maintain project records, including as-built documentation.
  12. Identify non-conforming works, generate reports, and coordinate corrective actions.
  13. Perform additional responsibilities as delegated by the Resident Engineer.

Collaboration and teamwork

  • Work with engineers on design problems and basic calculations.
  • Conduct technical and feasibility studies, site investigations.
  • Liaise with remote teams to ensure project completion.
  • Maintain good communication skills.

Client Service Management

  • Manage relationships with internal and external clients, including DM Infrastructure.
  • Build and sustain positive relationships.

Experience in utility diversions and management

Follow safety practices and adhere to company policies and quality procedures, including Construction Design Management.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Resident Engineer.
