Job summary

KN International in Abu Dhabi seeks an Assistant Resident Engineer (I&C) to oversee infrastructure services on major projects, ensuring quality, safety and regulatory compliance on site.

The role focuses on pumping stations, fluid mechanics, and coordination with contractors, consultants and authorities while supervising M&E works and RFIs.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 10+ years of UAE infrastructure experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
• Minimum 10 years of experience in infrastructure services, preferably within the UAE.
• Experience with Main Pumping Stations, 33kV Substations, and Transmission Networks.
• Experience with TRANSCO or TAQA; approval from TRANSCO preferred.
• Strong technical expertise in pumping stations, fluid mechanics, and M&E systems.
• Proven experience in construction supervision, quality control, and contract administration.
• Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate pumping stations, fluid mechanics, and related systems to ensure compliance with project specifications and local regulations.
• Supervise the contractor’s work, ensuring adherence to contract requirements, safety standards, and quality control measures.
• Conduct regular site inspections and progress monitoring to ensure timely completion of M&E systems.
• Manage and respond to RFIs, submittals, and technical queries related to mechanical and electrical works.
• Collaborate with project stakeholders, including contractors, consultants, and government authorities, to ensure smooth project execution.
• Review project documentation, including material approvals, method statements, and shop drawings.
• Identify risks, troubleshoot issues, and recommend corrective actions to maintain project efficiency.
• Attend weekly and monthly progress meetings, providing technical input and status updates.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations on-site.
