Job summary

ILF Consulting Engineers UAE is seeking an Assistant Resident Engineer to support supervising mechanical works at water and wastewater facilities in Abu Dhabi. You will review method statements, submittals and shop drawings, monitor progress, and ensure adherence to designs, specs and safety standards.

The role requires 5–7 years in mechanical inspection, strong piping and equipment knowledge, and familiarity with ASME/API/ISO standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the Resident Engineer in supervising mechanical works, especially in water and wastewater treatment facilities.
• Oversee construction and installation activities to ensure compliance with approved designs, specifications, and standards.
• Review method statements, material submittals, and shop drawings for technical compliance.
• Monitor progress of mechanical works including pipelines, pumps, HVAC systems, compressors, blowers, and valves.
• Ensure quality control procedures are followed and participate in testing, commissioning, and acceptance of systems.
• Maintain site records such as inspection reports, daily logs, NCRs, and RFIs.
• Participate in site meetings and prepare technical reports on progress and quality.
• Ensure adherence to safety, health, and environmental regulations on-site.
• Assist in contract administration and resolution of technical issues, including review of original piping design.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5–7 years of experience in mechanical inspection, preferably in water/wastewater treatment facilities.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems used in STPs, including pumps, piping, valves, blowers, and compressors.
• Familiarity with relevant standards such as ASME, API, ISO, and health & safety guidelines.
• Expertise in piping and process equipment installation, root cause analysis, and problem-solving.
• Ability to lead mechanical installations, manage inspections, and handle multiple piping concerns simultaneously.
• Experience supervising and inspecting mechanical installations in compliance with contract documents and codes.
• Prior experience in similar roles within Abu Dhabi, UAE, or the Gulf region.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• Fluent in written and verbal English.
