Job summary

Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts in Dubai is seeking a Restaurant Supervisor to oversee daily restaurant operations, ensuring a professional, guest‑centered service. The role requires supervising staff, briefing teams, managing seating and service flow, and upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Supports and supervises the daily operation of the restaurant to ensure smooth, efficient service.
  • conducts pre-shift briefings to communicate business levels, VIP guests, special occasions, menu updates, promotions, guest preferences, and priorities.
  • Monitors seating, allocation and service flow to minimize guest waiting times.
  • Ensures guest needs are anticipated and addressed throughout the dining experience.
  • Completes opening and closing procedures and ensures supplies and equipment are ready.
  • Inspects areas for cleanliness, safety, and compliance with standards.
  • Maintains FIFO and proper stock rotation; conducts inventories and requisitions.
  • Coordinates maintenance requests and repairs of furnishings and equipment.
  • Adheres to Food & Beverage policies, SOPs, and quality standards; seeks efficiency improvements.
  • Welcomes guests, engages on floor, gathers feedback, and ensures guest satisfaction.
  • Communicates menus, ingredients, allergens, and promotions to guests; supports service priorities with culinary team.
  • Ensures the team delivers attentive, personalized service and handles guest concerns professionally.

Position Summary

Supports the Restaurant Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring associates work effectively as a team to deliver efficient, professional, and exceptional service while consistently meeting and exceeding guest expectations.

Monitors restaurant operations throughout the shift, including guest engagement, table availability, sequence of service, service quality, cleanliness, safety, and overall guest satisfaction. Maintains a visible presence on the restaurant floor, proactively engaging with guests, anticipating their needs, and addressing requests or concerns promptly and professionally.

Ensures all associates maintain appropriate grooming, uniform, and professional appearance standards, addressing any deficiencies as required. Leads by example and promotes a culture of professionalism, teamwork, accountability, and service excellence.

Managing Restaurant Operations
  • Supports and supervises the daily operation of the restaurant to ensure smooth, efficient, and consistent service.
  • Conducts pre-shift briefings to communicate business levels, VIP guests, special occasions, menu updates, promotions, guest preferences, and operational priorities.
  • Monitors restaurant seating, table allocation, and service flow to ensure efficient operations and minimize guest waiting times.
  • Ensures guest needs are anticipated and addressed throughout the dining experience.
  • Completes and supervises opening and closing procedures, ensuring all required supplies, operating equipment, and service areas are properly prepared.
  • Inspects restaurant, service stations, storage areas, and back-of-house areas to ensure cleanliness, organization, safety, and compliance with established standards.
  • Ensures appropriate FIFO procedures are consistently followed and products are properly stored and rotated.
  • Completes scheduled inventories and monitors restaurant supplies, operating equipment, and stock levels.
  • Prepares and submits requisitions to ensure sufficient supplies are available based on business requirements while minimizing unnecessary costs and wastage.
  • Monitors the condition of restaurant furniture, fixtures, tools, and equipment and coordinates maintenance requests and repairs as required.
  • Ensures adherence to all established Food & Beverage policies, SOPs, quality standards, food safety requirements, and operational procedures.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve operational efficiency, productivity, quality, safety, and cost effectiveness.
Ensuring Exceptional Guest Service
  • Welcomes and acknowledges guests in a warm, professional, and personalized manner.
  • Maintains an active presence on the restaurant floor and regularly interacts with guests to obtain feedback and ensure satisfaction.
  • Anticipates and addresses guest needs and supports associates in delivering attentive and personalized service.
  • Handles guest concerns and complaints professionally, taking ownership and ensuring appropriate service recovery and follow-up.
  • Builds relationships with regular and repeat guests and supports the recognition of individual preferences and special occasions.
  • Ensures the team has comprehensive knowledge of menus, ingredients, allergens, preparation methods, promotions, and beverage offerings to confidently assist guests.
  • Works closely with the culinary team to communicate guest feedback, dietary requirements, allergies, special requests, and service priorities.
  • Continuously monitors service performance and identifies opportunities to enhance the overall dining experience and guest satisfaction.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • Related Work Experience: At least 2 years of related work experience.
  • Supervisory Experience: At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
