Job summary
Atlantis The Royal is seeking a Lead Aquarist to provide and oversee healthy and sanitary living conditions for marine and freshwater animals, while guiding educational experiences for guests and the local community. The role includes managing feeding schedules, daily maintenance, water analysis, and supervising the aquarium team.
Ideal candidates hold a relevant degree or equivalent aquarium experience with supervisory skills, scuba certification, and strong knowledge of husbandry principles to
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Zoology, Marine Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years aquarium experience and supervisory experience of 1 year or more.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and report animal behavior to management.
- Maintain and oversee aquarium exhibits according to maintenance programs.
- Lead in developing solutions for daily challenges in the aquarium.
- Maintain and service dive and exhibit equipment, reporting malfunctions.
- Oversee feeding, water quality, disease recognition and animal care protocols.
- Provide guest education experiences and contribute to conservation learning.
