Job summary

Star Services in the United Arab Emirates (Abu Dhabi) is seeking an ASP Operator with 5 years of steel industry experience to oversee the ASP line during shifts. The role focuses on operating processing equipment, monitoring control panels, and maintaining production quality and traceability.

The candidate will coordinate with maintenance and quality teams, perform changeovers as needed, and ensure safety procedures and housekeeping are followed on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• 5 years' experience in steel industry into Utility & Water Plant.
• Diploma/Bachelor's degree required.

Responsibilities

• Operate the ASP system and associated processing equipment during shift operations.
• Monitor the ASP control panel/HMI and ensure process parameters remain within specified limits.
• Monitor production activities and make necessary operational adjustments as per SOP and production requirements.
• Ensure proper feeding, transfer, processing, and discharge of steel products through the ASP line.
• Monitor equipment status, alarms, interlocks, and abnormal operating conditions.
• Coordinate with field operators and maintenance teams during equipment abnormalities and breakdowns.
• Identify and report product quality issues, dimensional abnormalities, surface defects, and material handling problems.
• Ensure correct identification and traceability of steel products, heat numbers, batches, and production sequences.
• Assist in product changeover, size change, line setting, and adjustment activities.
• Monitor conveyors, rollers, guides, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, sensors, and other associated equipment.
• Stop equipment safely during emergencies or unsafe operating conditions.
• Support preventive maintenance, inspection, cleaning, and minor troubleshooting activities.
• Coordinate with Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, and Quality teams to maintain continuous production.
• Maintain shift production records, operating logs, checklists, and handover reports.
• Ensure proper housekeeping around the ASP operating area.
• Follow all plant safety procedures, PPE requirements, LOTO, work permits, and emergency procedures.
• Participate in shutdown, maintenance, and improvement activities when required.
