Job summary

Tractebel, part of the ENGIE Group, seeks an Assistant Resident Engineer Electrical (Substation) to support the Resident Engineer in supervising substation projects across UAE sites. You will ensure adherence to contract documents, drawings, method statements, and safety requirements while coordinating contractors on site.

You will perform site inspections, coordinate between technical disciplines, review submissions, and assist in testing, certification and handover, ensuring quality and safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering approved by UAE regulatory authorities.
• Minimum 8 years experience in electrical engineering projects in the UAE including substations.
• Strong technical knowledge of high-voltage substation construction and supervision.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Resident Engineer in day-to-day supervision of electrical works for substations.
• Conduct regular site visits and inspections to monitor the contractors' work progress.
• Liaise with all technical disciplines and attend Site Technical Coordination Meetings.
• Review contractor submissions, shop drawings and construction-related documentation.
• Ensure compliance with approved method statements, layouts, and drawings.
• Witness site activities, inspections and testing as per project requirements.
• Support the Resident Engineer during final inspections, completion certification and handover of works.
• Ensure proper implementation of site safety measures.

Your mission

As Assistant Resident Engineer Electrical (Substation) in our Transmission & Distribution department you will support the Resident Engineer in supervising the execution of substation electrical works. You will ensure that all activities are carried out in compliance with contract documents drawings method statements and safety requirements. Your role will include site inspections contractor coordination and support during testing certification and project handover.
