Job summary

NOV is seeking an Applications Engineer to support the full lifecycle of Quick Opening Closures (QOC) product line. The role includes application engineering, proposal preparation, and technical support. You will work closely with internal teams and customers to provide effective technical solutions and timely quotations.

The ideal candidate should have 5–8 years of relevant experience, strong technical knowledge, and a degree in Mechanical or Metallurgy engineering. Willingness to travel regionally and internationally is essential.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of experience in application engineering, proposals, or technical sales support.
• Experience working with MENA region customers or end-users.
• Prior experience with Quick Opening Closures, pressure vessels, or scrapper traps.

Job Summary

As an Applications Engineer, you will support the full lifecycle of Quick Opening Closures (QOC) product line, including application engineering, proposal preparation, and technical support. You will work closely with sales, engineering, operations, and customers to provide technical solutions, product recommendations, and timely quotations. The role involves reviewing customer requirements, performing product selection, providing sales support, and delivering technical guidance for both internal and external customers.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Review customer inquiries and technical specifications related to QOC product line.
• Prepare timely, accurate, and high‑quality techno‑commercial proposals using internal tools and processes.
• Perform QOC ID/WALL THICKNESS calculations, ensuring compliance with project and industry requirements such as ASME SEC VIII DIV 1, DIV 2, ASME B31.8, and ASME B31.4.
• Manage proposals through the full bid cycle, including maintaining quote registers and tracking progress in CRM.
• Coordinate with internal departments and external suppliers to ensure on‑time and compliant quotations.
• Establish and maintain strong working relationships with sales, engineering, operations, and other internal stakeholders.
• Review and interpret contractual requirements to ensure alignment with customer specifications and company policies.
• Support order execution by ensuring proper documentation, technical clarity, and customer communication.
• Identify and mitigate risks throughout proposal and order stages.
• Travel to customer sites, vendor locations, and manufacturing facilities when required.
• Promote and adhere to safety, ethics, and compliance standards.

Behavioral Skills / Competencies & Experience Required

• Strong technical understanding of pressure‑containing equipment, preferably quick opening closures, pressure vessels, or pipeline equipment.
• Knowledge of relevant standards such as ASME Section VIII, ASME B 31.4, 31.8, ASTM B 16.5, B 16.34, ASTM material grades.
• Experience in technical proposal preparation and customer interaction.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and datasheets.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and CRM systems.

Educational Qualification And Experience Required
