An innovative clean-tech startup in the UAE is seeking an Applications Engineer to bridge the gap between advanced energy storage technology and real-world integration. The role involves understanding thermal batteries, designing system layouts, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and have 2-5 years of relevant experience. This position offers a competitive salary and opportunities for professional training and certification.
About the Project ASR Technologies is a start‑up leading one of the most innovative clean‑tech initiatives in the Middle East — the development and local manufacturing of next‑generation thermal battery systems for district cooling and industrial applications.
Our mission is to redefine how cooling energy is stored and delivered in one of the hottest regions on Earth — by using advanced phase‑change material (PCM) technology to create compact, efficient, and sustainable cooling systems that drastically cut energy use, reduce carbon emissions, and strengthen grid resilience.
This project represents a first‑of‑its‑kind manufacturing and engineering program in the GCC, uniting local industrial expertise with cutting‑edge thermal storage innovation.
As part of our growing team, you will help shape the region’s transition toward sustainable, intelligent cooling infrastructure — contributing directly to a technology that supports the UAE’s Net Zero 2050 goals.
The Applications Engineer will play a key role in bridging the gap between advanced energy storage technology and real‑world system integration. You will work hands‑on with our engineering and manufacturing teams to understand how the thermal batteries function, how they fit into large‑scale cooling systems, and how they can be tailored for the region’s demanding environmental and industrial conditions.
This is not a routine engineering role — it’s a pioneering opportunity to be part of a team developing the Middle East’s first locally engineered and manufactured thermal battery systems.
Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications.
Professional training and certification from UK tech companies.
Opportunity to participate in pioneering cooling technology development for the Middle East region.
Clear career progression path into Senior Applications Engineering and Technical Management roles.
System Understanding & Integration Gain a deep understanding of the thermal battery’s core principles — phase‑change materials, heat transfer, and system performance.
Design and optimize system layouts for integrating thermal storage into district cooling and industrial processes.
Assist in developing operational models and control strategies that maximize efficiency and energy savings.
Application Design & Engineering Support the creation of technical drawings, system schematics, and engineering documentation for client proposals and installations.
Participate in prototype development, testing, and validation to ensure technology reliability and scalability.
Contribute to the refinement of system designs based on testing data and field feedback.
Collaboration & Support Work closely with the R&D, manufacturing, and commercial teams to ensure seamless communication between design and production.
Support the preparation of technical submissions, feasibility studies, and client‑facing engineering documents.
Participate in client discussions, providing technical clarity on system performance, efficiency, and application benefits.
Continuous Learning & Innovation Stay informed about developments in sustainable cooling, thermal energy storage, and advanced materials.
Contribute ideas and technical insight to improve system performance, manufacturing methods, and product integration.
Help develop internal engineering knowledge and best practices within the Al Hamy Technologies team.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Energy, or Thermal Engineering (Master’s preferred).
: 2–5 years in HVAC, district cooling, or energy systems integration.
Familiarity with refrigeration, thermodynamics, or heat‑exchange systems.
Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent CAD software.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Experience preparing technical reports and client documentation.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
