As a Pet Groomer, you will be responsible for providing exceptional grooming services to a variety of domestic animals, including dogs, cats, and occasionally small pets. Your role will involve performing grooming tasks such as bathing, hair cutting, nail trimming, and styling based on breed standards and client preferences. The ideal candidate should possess excellent grooming techniques, a deep understanding of animal behavior, and a passion for ensuring the well-being and appearance of pets.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional grooming services to a wide range of domestic animals, including dogs, cats, and occasionally small pets, ensuring their comfort and well-being throughout the grooming process.
• Bathe and shampoo animals, selecting appropriate products based on coat type, skin condition, and client preferences.
• Perform hair cutting and styling tasks according to breed standards, client requests, and creative grooming techniques, showcasing exceptional grooming skills and attention to detail.
• Trim and file nails, clean ears, and perform dental hygiene procedures as necessary, ensuring the health and hygiene of animals.
• Assess the condition of the animal's coat and skin, identifying any abnormalities or issues, and communicate them to pet owners or veterinarians.
• Identify and address external parasites, such as fleas and ticks, during grooming sessions, recommending appropriate treatments to pet owners.
• Monitor and report any changes in the animal's behavior, health, or physical condition during grooming, ensuring the well-being of the pet.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the grooming area, including tools, equipment, and workstations, adhering to strict hygiene standards.
• Provide excellent customer service, consulting with pet owners to understand their grooming preferences and ensuring their satisfaction with the grooming results.
• Educate pet owners on proper grooming techniques, coat maintenance, and at-home care to promote the overall health and well-being of their pets.
• Stay updated on the latest grooming trends, styles, and techniques through continuous learning and professional development.
• Assist in managing grooming schedules, appointments, and client records, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in administrative tasks.
• Collaborate with other members of the grooming team and veterinary staff to ensure a seamless and positive experience for clients and their pets.
• Participate in marketing initiatives and promotional activities to attract new clients and maintain strong relationships with existing clients.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Professional Pet Groomer, preferably in a professional grooming salon or veterinary clinic.
• Extensive knowledge and understanding of different breeds, coat types, and grooming techniques.
• Proficiency in bathing, hair cutting, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and other grooming tasks.
• Ability to handle animals safely and confidently, minimizing stress and ensuring their comfort throughout the grooming process.
• Strong knowledge of animal behavior, with the ability to identify signs of distress, anxiety, or health issues during grooming.
• Excellent scissoring and styling skills, showcasing creativity and attention to detail.
• Familiarity with grooming tools, equipment, and products, and ability to maintain and sanitize them appropriately.
• Exceptional customer service and communication skills, with the ability to listen to client preferences and deliver on their expectations.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently, managing grooming schedules and multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Commitment to maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and safety standards in the grooming area.

• Fluency in English is required.
