Job summary

Global Air Navigation Services L.L.C. is seeking an ATCO with strong situational awareness to provide aerodrome and approach control, flight information and alerting services.

The role requires adherence to regulatory manuals and a rostered schedule within a safety‑first environment. Preferred candidates have 5 years of operational ATCO experience or completion of an Ab Initio scholarship with OJT and certification.

Qualifications

• High secondary school certificate is required.
• 5 years operational ATCO experience from validations from equivalent airport.
• Ab Initio ATCO: Scholarship Program, OJT and Certification of Competence examination.

Responsibilities

• Provide aerodrome / approach control services, flight information services and alerting services to aircraft in your area of responsibility.
• Support unit management in delivering air traffic control services per roster and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor equipment serviceability and report issues to the Shift Supervisor.
• Report failures and potential safety hazards via the reporting platform.
• Adhere to staff instructions and conduct policies in the operational area.
• Report incidents to operational management and regulator via the reporting platform.
• Promote safety management within your area and ensure safety remains primary in ATC delivery.
• Maintain document and procedure control to satisfy the Quality Management System.
• Maintain operational knowledge of ATC equipment and systems.
• Maintain professsional demeanour while providing ATC services.
• Perform any additional tasks to meet operational needs.
• Uphold safety responsibilities per the Safety Management Manual.

Job description

To provide safe, expeditious and orderly operational air traffic control (ATC) services in accordance with the privileges granted on the license ensuring compliance with the applicable regulations and the certificate of competency relevant to the job function’s specific area of responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide aerodrome / approach control services, flight information services and alerting services to aircraft operating in a specific area of responsibility
• Support unit management in delivering air traffic control services as per scheduled roster and in compliance with the ATSOperational Manual and regulations
• Monitor the serviceability status of equipment essential to the provision of air traffic services and report to the Shift Supervisor
• Report failures and potential risks that possibly constitute a safety hazard via the appropriate reporting platform
• Abide by instructions and administrative policies issued to staff pertaining to conduct in the operational area.
• Report any undesired state and/or incidents as and when they occur to operational management, and to the regulator via the appropriate reporting platform
• Promote and support the implementation of the ANS Safety Management System within specific area of responsibility to ensure that safety remains primary to the delivery of Air Navigation Services
• Maintain document and procedure control to ensure that the Quality Management System is adhered to within the specific area of responsibility
• Maintain a thorough operational knowledge and understanding of the equipment and systems used for the provision of air traffic services in the job function’s specific area of responsibility for compliance.
• Maintain a professional demeanour in providing air traffic control services to all concerned parties
• Perform any additional tasks that may arise from time to time to meet operational and organisational requirements
• Safety responsibilities and accountabilities of this position are detailed in the Safety Management Manual of the organization. The Job holder is required to maintain awareness and knowledge in relation to their safety responsibilities associated with their job function
