Job summary

Discovered MENA is hiring an AI Software Engineer to build scalable AI-powered products, spanning backend services, APIs and modern frontend interfaces. You will work with LLMs, RAG and agentic workflows, delivering production-ready software.

You’ll contribute across the full stack, collaborating with AI Engineers, DevOps, and Infrastructure teams to ensure reliability, observability and performance as the product scales.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience across frontend and backend.
• Backend and frontend expertise with Python/FastAPI and TypeScript/React or Next.js.
• Experience building production-grade software in product-led or startup environments.
• Experience with AI-powered applications: LLMs, RAG, vector databases and agentic workflows.
• Experience deploying to AWS or other major cloud platforms.
• Strong fundamentals: API design, distributed systems, testing and system design.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, containerisation and cloud-native practices.
• Willingness to learn and take ownership in a fast-moving team.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable fullstack applications across backend services, APIs and frontend interfaces.
• Build production-grade backend systems using Python/FastAPI and frontend apps with TypeScript/React or Next.js.
• Collaborate with AI Engineers to integrate LLMs, RAG pipelines, vector databases and agentic workflows.
• Develop AI services, including model APIs, retrieval systems and agent orchestration.
• Own features across the full software development lifecycle from design to deployment and support.
• Assist in deploying AI applications in cloud environments with DevOps for scalability and observability.
• Participate in code reviews, discussions and system design with clean, well-tested code.
• Explore AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and delivery.

Discover the Responsibilities:

• Design, develop and maintain scalable fullstack applications, working across backend services, APIs and modern frontend interfaces.
• Build production-grade backend systems using Python/FastAPI and frontend applications using TypeScript and modern JavaScript frameworks.
• Collaborate with AI Engineers to integrate LLMs, RAG pipelines, vector databases and agentic workflows into AI-powered products.
• Develop and integrate AI services, including model APIs, retrieval systems and agent orchestration, to deliver intelligent user experiences.
• Take ownership of features across the full software development lifecycle, from system design and development through to testing, deployment and production support.
• Contribute to the deployment of AI applications within cloud environments, working closely with DevOps and Infrastructure Engineers to ensure scalability, reliability and observability.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions and system design, writing clean, maintainable and well-tested code.
• Explore and utilise AI-assisted development tools, such as Claude Code and Codex, to improve engineering productivity and delivery.

Discover the Requirements:

• 5+ years of professional Software Engineering experience, with strong hands-on expertise across both frontend and backend development.
• Strong backend development experience, ideally using Python and FastAPI, alongside frontend experience with TypeScript and modern frameworks such as React or Next.js.
• Proven experience designing, building and deploying production-grade software applications, ideally within a product-led or startup environment.
• Practical experience building or integrating AI-powered applications, with an understanding of LLMs, RAG, vector databases, AI agents and agentic workflows.
• Experience working with cloud technologies and deploying applications into production, ideally AWS, although other major cloud platforms will be considered.
• Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including API design, distributed systems, scalability, testing and system design.
• Exposure to CI/CD, containerisation, observability and modern cloud-native development practices would be advantageous.
• A strong problem-solving mindset, willingness to learn new technologies and the ability to take ownership within a fast-moving, collaborative engineering team
