Job summary

Ministry of Economy & Tourism in the United Arab Emirates seeks an AI expert to lead governance, HITL workflows, and scalable AI deployments across ministries. The role focuses on ethical, data-driven decision-making, stakeholder collaboration, and advancing AI maturity throughout government operations.

The incumbent partners with cross-functional teams, ensures regulatory compliance, and drives continuous optimization of AI applications to deliver measurable public value.

Qualifications

• ePhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field (no experience required)
• Master's Degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field (minimum 3 years of relevant experience)
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Engineering, Statistics, or a related field (minimum 7 years of relevant experience)

Responsibilities

• Define and oversee AI-ready data requirements for training datasets and operational inputs
• Design and manage Human-in-the-Loop workflows to validate AI outputs before deployment
• Monitor AI model accuracy, confidence levels, and drift to maintain effectiveness
• Test and train AI agents using feedback, prompt engineering, and supervised learning
• Develop AI governance frameworks and ethical guidelines aligned with government regulations
• Classify AI applications by risk and establish proportionate controls
• Lead vendor oversight and contract governance to prevent lock-in
• Identify and mitigate AI risks like bias and adversarial attacks
• Design AI awareness programs for developers, users, and stakeholders
• Guide cross-functional teams across solution development, engineering, operations, and business
• Translate AI capabilities into practical guidance for decision-makers
• Define and monitor model performance metrics and prepare reports
• Manage feedback loops from AI users to improve models
• Identify emerging AI use cases and recommend enhancements
• Support enterprise scaling of AI apps with reusable templates
• Address employee resistance by aligning AI with business needs
• Build AI communities of practice across government entities
• Validate outputs and apply human judgment in complex decisions
• Perform other duties as needed by Head of AI Department
