Job summary

AECOM is seeking a detail-oriented Advisor Safety, Health & Environment (Site) to lead safety, health, and environmental programs at our Abu Dhabi site. You will develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety systems across operations, ensuring regulatory compliance and a strong safety culture.

You will conduct inspections, investigate incidents, deliver training, and liaise with authorities to support continuous improvement and disaster readiness.

Qualifications

• Proven experience (minimum 7years) in occupational health and safety advisory or management roles within industrial or construction environments.
• Strong knowledge of UAE and GCC health and safety regulations, standards, and compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in risk assessment methodologies, hazard identification, and incident investigation techniques.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular site inspections and hazard assessments to identify risks and non-compliance.
• Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and UAE-compliant protocols.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses; analyze root causes and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare and maintain safety documents, records, and reports for regulatory and internal reviews.
• Deliver safety training and awareness programs to staff at all levels.
• Audit safety management systems to ensure adherence to standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with site management to develop emergency response and disaster plans.
• Monitor safety performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities on health, safety, and environmental matters.
• Stay current with changes in safety legislation and standards.

Job Description

We're looking for a detail-oriented and professional Advisor Safety, Health & Environment (Site) to join our team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive safety, health, and environmental programs across our site operations. You will work collaboratively with management and staff to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and organizational standards while fostering a strong safety culture.

• Conduct regular site inspections and hazard assessments to identify potential risks and non-compliance issues
• Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and protocols aligned with UAE regulations and international standards
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses; analyze root causes and recommend corrective and preventive actions
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive safety documentation, records, and reports for regulatory compliance and internal review
• Deliver safety training and awareness programs to employees at all organizational levels
• Audit safety management systems and processes to ensure adherence to established standards and best practices
• Collaborate with site management and operational teams to develop emergency response and disaster management plans
• Monitor and analyze safety performance metrics and key performance indicators to drive continuous improvement
• Liaise with regulatory authorities and external stakeholders on health, safety, and environmental matters
• Stay current with changes in safety legislation and industry standards applicable to site operations

Qualifications

• Proven experience (minimum 7years) in occupational health and safety advisory or management roles within industrial or construction environments
• Strong knowledge of UAE and GCC health and safety regulations, standards, and compliance requirements
• Proficiency in risk assessment methodologies, hazard identification, and incident investigation techniques
• Demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing safety management systems and procedures
• Proficiency in safety management software and Microsoft Office applications
• Familiarity with ISO 4501 or equivalent occupational health and safety management standards
