Job summary

Job description

Job Purpose

Provide advice and ensure alignment ADNOC internal teams, Group Companies and International Shareholders to ensure managing all Group Companies major project reviews and approvals in timely manner. Monitors Group Companies Projects performance and report to management highlighting problematic areas and concerns at early stage in the projects and provides experienced advice to deal with these problems.

Job Specific Accountabilities (Part 1)
  • Track problem areas, risks, difficulties and other concerns in projects. Discuss and recommend course of corrective and mitigation measures with Project Department Manager.
  • Represent and defend ADNOC interests in meetings with industry shareholders decision-making workshops.
  • Participate in the development of project Assurance Procedure and acts as a Subject Matter Expert supporting both internal & external organizations in the implementation of the project guidelines & procedures.
  • Review list of new projects being launched and challenge the selected project type and class with recommended changes to the Group Companies Management.
  • Conduct regular meetings with Group Companies managers to insure proper implementation of Project governance within their teams.
  • Represent ADNOC in peer reviews of Projects requested by ISHs.
  • Regularly review the IPR and Project Management tool‑kit, guidelines and methodology to ensure continuous improvement and alignment with industry best practices and lessons learnt.
  • Provide coaching and project audit expertise to ADNOC personnel when required / requested.
  • Review and analyzes all the technical reports and assessments and makes sure that proper procedures and processes were implemented.
  • Provide advice, guidance and motivation to the Group Companies project team to achieve objectives successfully.
  • Prepare management reports and provides technical advice to ADNOC Management.
  • Plan and participate in the ongoing training and development of assigned UAE national employees, including assessing employees training and development needs, directing the preparation of structured development/familiarization programs, monitoring and reporting on progress and counseling employees as required.
  • Meet with partners in Group Companies (industry shareholders) to discuss various issues in order to achieve alignment.
  • Implement ADNOC VAP (Value Assurance Processes); IPRs (Independent Project Reviews) processes across ADNOC group of Companies.
  • Follow up on all projects to ensure timely completions, achievements of project objectives, and adherence to ADNOC project guidelines, Value Assurance Process, and best project execution practices. Member in all ADNOC major projects steering committee, major reviews and Sub-Committee.

  • Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.

  • Contribute to the achievement of the approved Performance Objectives for the Function/Division/Department/ Section in line with the Company Performance framework.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement

  • Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational processes.
  • Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with best industry standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function.

Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability

  • Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures, controls, applicable legislation, and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC Code of Practices.

Reports

  • Provide inputs to prepare Function/Division/Department/Section MIS and progress reports for Company Management.
Generic Accountabilities (continue)
Internal Communications & Working Relationships
  • Regular contacts with Group Companies up to SVP level to assess Project Governance implementation.
  • Continuous contact with Group Companies Project Managers and Project Management Team Leaders to enhance quality of the input and output.
External Communications & Working Relationships
  • Occasional contact with peers in Group Companies and shareholders and agrees on best way forward.
