NYU Abu Dhabi is seeking an Adjunct IELTS Specialis t for the Summer Academy in Abu Dhabi to lead IELTS test preparation for the Class of 2028. The role focuses on developing reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills within the existing IELTS curriculum, with collaboration across specialists.

The candidate will contribute to an enriched educational experience, provide regular feedback, and participate in faculty meetings to support student success and program goals.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience teaching IELTS preparation courses.
• Experience mentoring high school students to achieve target scores.
• Familiarity with both online and in-person instruction methods.

Responsabilités

• Teach the IELTS Preparation course for one section (Class of 2028) in Abu Dhabi.
• Develop and adapt curriculum to improve reading, writing, listening, and speaking.
• Attend pre-program meetings and training sessions and coordinate with other specialists.
• Provide ongoing feedback to students (oral and written) during the 5-week course.
• Submit detailed written feedback on each student before the program ends.
• Support day trips and co-curricular activities and lead small groups when needed.

The program features intensive instruction in Leadership and Public Speaking, Critical Thinking and Writing, Mathematical Reasoning for the Sciences, College Readiness and Success, and IELTS Preparation over the course of two summers and an intervening academic year.The adjunct specialist will be responsible for overseeing all academic aspects of the IELTS Test Preparation course for one section of Summer Academy students during their first summer.
