Job summary

Middlesex University Dubai is seeking a Fashion Design lecturer to deliver engaging studio, workshop, lecture and tutorial sessions within undergraduate modules. The role involves facilitating practical learning, guiding students through concept development and final outcomes, and integrating contemporary fashion practices into teaching.

The successful candidate will demonstrate industry knowledge, support diverse learners, and provide constructive feedback while participating in assessment

Qualifications

• Familiar with the British Higher Education system and UK HE practices.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging studio, workshop, lecture, seminar and tutorial sessions within assigned modules.
• Facilitate practical and creative learning activities for undergraduate Fashion Design students.
• Support students through the fashion design process including research, concept development, experimentation, design development and final outcomes.
• Demonstrate contemporary fashion design techniques, processes and professional practices.
• Encourage experimentation, independent thinking, creativity and critical reflection.
• Adapt teaching approaches to diverse cultural and learning backgrounds.
• Integrate industry developments, technologies and contemporary fashion practices into teaching.
• Prepare teaching materials, demonstrations, presentations and learning activities.
• Assess student work in accordance with module assessment criteria and University regulations.
• Provide clear, constructive and developmental feedback.
• Participate in formative and summative assessment activities.
• Attend moderation and assessment-related activities as required.
• Support students in understanding assessment requirements and responding to feedback.
• Where appropriate, contribute to live briefs, competitions, industry projects, exhibitions and fashion events.
• Maintain current knowledge of developments within the global fashion industry.
