Job summary

SearchPlus HR is seeking a Western-qualified Consultant in Acute Medicine for a leading private hospital in the UAE. The role focuses on specialist assessment, rapid diagnosis and management of acutely unwell patients, with close collaboration across departments.

Requirements include a medical degree with postgraduate Acute/Internal Medicine qualification and a Western credential (UK/Irish/US/Canada). Competitive tax-free salary and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Must hold a medical degree with a recognized postgraduate qualification in Acute Medicine or Internal Medicine.
• Western qualification such as UK CCT/CCST, Irish CSCST, American Board Certification, Canadian Royal College, FRACP or equivalent.
• Strong experience in acute medical assessment, stabilization and management of complex patients.

Responsibilities

• Assess and manage patients with acute medical illnesses and undifferentiated symptoms.
• Provide rapid diagnosis, stabilization and treatment for acute conditions.
• Manage acute exacerbations and medical emergencies.
• Coordinate admissions, investigations, treatment plans, and discharge planning.
• Collaborate with Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine and inpatient teams.
• Recognize deteriorating patients and escalate care when needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation and uphold patient-safety protocols.
• Participate in audits, quality improvement and CPD.
