Job summary

Telcon Signs L.L.C. in Dubai is seeking an experienced fabrication operator specialized in acrylic signage.

You will fabricate letters, logos, signboards, and display units per drawings, while measuring, cutting, assembling, and finishing with attention to quality and safety. You will read technical drawings, prepare for LED lighting, and coordinate with designers and installation teams to ensure timely completion.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate acrylic letters, logos, signboards, display units, nameplates, and other signage products according to approved drawings and specifications.
• Measure, mark, cut, shape, drill, and trim acrylic sheets and components using appropriate hand tools, power tools, and fabrication machines.
• Assemble acrylic components using adhesives, bonding agents, screws, and other fixing materials to ensure alignment and secure fitting.
• Produce 3D acrylic letters, channel letters, illuminated sign components, and customized acrylic lettering as required.
• Perform edge finishing, sanding, polishing, trimming, and other finishing operations to achieve a smooth, professional appearance.
• Read and understand approved drawings, measurements, layouts, and production instructions to ensure accurate fabrication.
• Assist in preparing acrylic signage for LED illumination, including fitting LED modules and coordinating with the electrical team for lighting installation and testing.
• Handle acrylic sheets, adhesives, tools, and other fabrication materials carefully to prevent damage and wastage.
• Inspect fabricated products for dimensional accuracy, bonding strength, surface finish, and compliance with approved designs before final inspection.
• Operate relevant fabrication equipment, including cutting machines, drilling machines, polishing tools, and other equipment, in accordance with safety procedures.
• Keep tools and workstations clean and organized, reporting any equipment malfunction or maintenance needs.
• Follow all company safety procedures, use PPE, and handle cutting tools, chemicals, adhesives, and machinery safely.
• Coordinate with designers, production supervisors, electricians, and installation teams to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of jobs.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper organization of the fabrication area and dispose of acrylic offcuts and waste materials appropriately.
• Minimize material wastage by following approved cutting layouts, measurements, and efficient fabrication methods.
• Inform supervisor of material shortages, fabrication defects, drawing discrepancies, delays, or technical issues affecting quality or completion.
• Perform other related fabrication and signage production duties as assigned.

2. Cutting and Shaping: Measure, mark, cut, shape, drill, and trim acrylic sheets and components using appropriate hand tools, power tools, and fabrication machines.

3. Assembly and Bonding: Assemble acrylic components using suitable adhesives, bonding agents, screws, and other fixing materials to ensure proper alignment and secure fitting.

4. Letter and Logo Fabrication: Produce 3D acrylic letters, channel letters, illuminated sign components, and customized acrylic lettering as required.

5. Finishing and Polishing: Perform edge finishing, sanding, polishing, trimming, and other finishing operations to achieve a smooth, clean, and professional appearance.

6. Design Interpretation: Read and understand approved drawings, measurements, layouts, and production instructions to ensure accurate fabrication.

13. Production Coordination: Coordinate with designers, production supervisors, electricians, and installation teams to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of assigned jobs.

14. Housekeeping: Maintain cleanliness and proper organization of the fabrication area and dispose of acrylic offcuts and other waste materials appropriately.

15. Material Waste Control: Minimize material wastage by following approved cutting layouts, accurate measurements, and efficient fabrication methods.

16. Reporting: Inform the supervisor of any material shortages, fabrication defects, drawing discrepancies, production delays, or technical issues affecting the quality or completion of work.

17. Other Duties: Perform other related fabrication and signage production duties assigned by the supervisor or management within the scope of the position.
