Job summary

A leading engineering consultancy in Abu Dhabi seeks a seasoned finance professional to manage accounts and financial compliance. Responsibilities include preparing budgets, forecasts, and overseeing financial reporting. The ideal candidate holds a degree in Accounting or Finance with over 8 years of experience, knowledge of commercial contracts, and fluency in Microsoft Office and Tally. Knowledge of Arabic is an asset.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance.
  • Experience in AEC and real estate industries preferred.
  • Complete knowledge of accounting up to financial report finalization.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the company's accounts and finances under the Finance Manager.
  • Prepare forecasts and budgets for reporting.
  • Perform variance analysis on project costs.

  • Professional Accounting/Finance Qualification is an asset (CFA, CPA, CMA, ACCA)
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Fluency in Google Suite is required
  • Speaking Arabic would be an asset
Job Description
  • Maintain and oversee the company's accounts and finances under the supervision of the Finance Manager.
  • Assist the Finance Manager in preparing Cash Flow and Budgets.
  • Coordinate, prepare, and administer the annual operating budget as well as short- and long‑term financial planning and analysis.
  • Prepare periodic budget forecasts.
  • Calculate projected cost and price for proposals.
  • Calculate accumulated actual cost of projects on a monthly basis.
  • Perform variance analysis of cost of each project.
  • Prepare monthly project progress reports.
  • Prepare and issue invoices and follow‑up for receivables.
  • Oversee the periodic receivables, payables, and inter‑company reconciliation reports.
  • Assist the Finance Manager in annual audit and preparation of statutory financial statements and supporting schedules.
  • Ensure that all finances are properly administered and monitored.
  • Engage and communicate with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Ensure that appropriate financial regulations and controls are in place and in use at all times.
  • Make regular reports to management on income, expenditure and any variations from budgets.
  • Assist the Finance Manager with customers and promote a helpful team environment in the department.
  • Review commercial terms of contracts/proposals and prepare the billing and receivable schedule.
  • Review commercial terms and cost calculation of current proposals in the pipeline and prepare profitability analysis.
  • Recommend, develop and maintain financial computer software systems.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
The Ideal Candidate Should Have
  • Strong knowledge of commercial terms of contracts and ability to prepare, understand, and respond to client invitations to tender/proposal requirements.
  • Candidates with knowledge and experience in AEC and real‑estate industries are preferred.
  • Complete knowledge of accounting up to finalization of financial reports.
  • Expertise in accounting software, Tally.
  • Professional qualification ACCA / CMA / ACA (full or part qualified).
  • Candidates who are immediately available are preferred.
