Qualifications

• Manage day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping functions for a portfolio of clients.
• Coordinate month-end closing activities including reconciliations and journal entries.
• Prepare and process financial statements ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Assist in preparing budgets and conducting variance analysis.
• Manage preparation and submission of tax returns for clients.

Job description

Working hours are aligned with UAE time: 10:30 AM 7:30 PM (Sri Lanka time)

Key Responsibilities

• Accounting & Bookkeeping: Manage day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping functions for a portfolio of clients across various industries, ensuring timely and accurate financial data entry.
• Month-End Closures: Coordinate and complete month-end closing activities, including reconciliations, journal entries, and preparation of management reports.
• Financial Statements: Prepare and process financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable financial regulations and reporting standards.
• Budgeting & Variance Analysis: Assist in preparing budgets and conduct variance analysis to identify discrepancies between actual financial performance and forecasted outcomes.
• Taxation: Manage the preparation and submission of tax returns for clients, ensuring compliance with local and international tax laws.
• Software Proficiency: Utilize accounting software such as XERO, QuickBooks, Zoho, or similar platforms to manage client accounts efficiently.

Skills & Qualifications

• Fluent communication skills in English is a must
• Strong accounting background, ideally within international client servicing environments.
• Hands-on experience working in BPO or shared services environments.
• Familiarity with accounting software and cloud-based tools.
• Strong communication and coordination skills for remote collaboration.
• Professional Certifications: Partly or fully qualified in AAT, ACCA, CA, or CIMA.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar accounting role, preferably with exposure to international clients.
• Technical Skills: Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QB, Zoho, Xero), with excellent knowledge of MS Excel, including advanced functions such as pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and financial modeling.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, essential for liaising with international clients and internal teams.
• Analytical Mindset: Ability to analyze financial data, interpret trends, and provide insights to clients and stakeholders.
