Job summary

Destinus is seeking a Demand Planning Specialist to drive integrated demand plans across contracts, programs, production, and lifecycle requirements in a fast-moving aerospace and defense setting.

You will consolidate inputs from multiple functions into a reliable demand picture, support S&OP/IBP, and translate program milestones into actionable demand plans, balancing capacity, material availability, and inventory with a focus on service levels and readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Operations, Economics, Statistics, or a related discipline.
• Around 3 to 7 years of experience in demand planning, supply planning, S&OP, IBP, materials planning, production planning, or program planning.
• Hands-on experience with ERP, MRP, or advanced planning systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working with large datasets.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain short, medium, and long-term demand forecasts across products, programs, systems, spare parts, and services.
• Consolidate demand inputs from customer contracts, purchase orders, program schedules, Sales, Business Development, Program Management, and maintenance activities into one reliable demand picture.
• Play a key role in the monthly S&OP and IBP process, preparing forecasts, dashboards, management reports, scenarios, and insights.
• Work with Program Management to translate program milestones, production schedules, deliveries, maintenance, and lifecycle requirements into the demand plan.
• Develop and maintain the Master Production Schedule and production plans balancing demand with capacity and material availability.
• Partner with Supply Planning, Procurement, Operations, and Engineering to identify long-lead materials and potential shortages.
• Support inventory planning by balancing demand against stock levels and service requirements.
• Track and improve Forecast Accuracy, Forecast Bias, and Inventory Performance.
• Investigate forecast variances and translate findings into improvements to planning processes.
• Maintain planning data across ERP, MRP, and planning systems and build reports using Excel/Power BI.
• Identify and escalate demand-related risks affecting commitments and supply continuity.
• Ensure planning activities meet policies, contracts, quality, and security standards.
