Job summary

A leading cruise line based in South Africa is seeking a Youth Activities Supervisor responsible for planning and facilitating age-appropriate activities for children. The ideal candidate should have a high school diploma, at least 2 years of experience with children, and CPR certification. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to work in fast-paced environments. Qualifications

Job description

- Plan and facilitate a variety of age-appropriate activities for children and teenagers, including games, arts and crafts, sports, and educational programs

- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in your care, following all company policies and procedures

- Build positive relationships with both children and their parents, promoting a welcoming and inclusive environment

- Assist with the organization and execution of special events and themed parties for children and families

- Maintain a clean and organized youth area, ensuring all toys and equipment are in good condition

- Collaborate with other Youth Staff and shipboard departments to create a cohesive and seamless experience for guests

- Attend mandatory trainings and meetings, staying up-to-date with all company policies and procedures

- Act as a role model for children, promoting good behavior and enforcing discipline when necessary

- Communicate effectively with parents and shipboard management, providing updates on activities and addressing any concerns or issues that may arise

- Participate in emergency drills and procedures as required by the ship's safety protocols

Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent, some college education in a related field preferred

- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children in a recreational or educational setting

- CPR and First Aid certification

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment

- Flexibility to work long hours and weekends as needed

- Fluent in English, additional languages are a plus

- Must pass a background check and drug test

- Previous cruise ship experience is a plus
