Job summary

Show Me Your Number Online Radio seeks a qualified Social Worker to provide psychosocial support to youth in SMYN programs, oversee community safe spaces, and supervise frontline staff to ensure counselling services align with the SMYN model.

The role requires a 4-year social work degree, SACSSP registration, and 5+ years of post-registration experience with youth, including school and community settings, plus a valid driver’s licence and police clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work with SAQA recognition.
• Currently registered with SACSSP.
• Minimum 5 years’ post-registration social work experience, including case management.
• At least 3 years’ direct work with Adolescents and Youth in community or school settings.
• Valid Police Clearance Certificate.
• Valid drivers licence (required).

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and supervision to community teams to meet daily operational goals.
• Oversee Safe Space activities with structured schedules.
• Screen and provide professional counselling and psychosocial support to Adolescent and Youth in need.
• Facilitate referrals and follow-up care and support interventions.
• Deliver orientation and training to frontline staff (SAWs, PGTs, ACs, CYCWs, CCGs, MFs, etc).
• Attend stakeholder forums and strengthen partnerships with local services and schools.
• Compile and consolidate monthly and quarterly reports for management review.
• Uphold SACSSP ethical guidelines in social work practice.
