Job summary

BMW Group South Africa invites young South Africans to join the YES4Youth Programme 2027. This 12-month fixed-term contract offers practical workplace experience across multiple fields in Gauteng, at sites like NSC Midrand, Financial Services Midrand, Plant Rosslyn and BMW IT Hub Menlyn.

Applicants must be 18–34, currently unemployed, and hold a relevant degree, diploma or certificate in one of the listed fields.

Qualifications

• Must hold a relevant university degree, National Diploma, Diploma or Certificate in one of the listed fields.
• A recognised qualification in Finance, IT, Engineering or related discipline is required.
• Postgraduate qualifications in Taxation, Tax or related fields will be advantageous for specific opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Gain hands-on workplace experience within a collaborative BMW environment.
• Develop professional skills and contribute to projects across Finance, Engineering, IT and Operations.
• Engage with mentors and participate in structured learning activities during the 12-month programme.

BMW Group South Africa is offering opportunities through its YES4Youth (Y4Y) Programme 2027, a collaborative initiative aimed at addressing youth unemployment in South Africa.

Through this programme, participants will gain valuable hands‑on workplace experience, develop professional skills and gain exposure to a dynamic corporate and manufacturing environment within an internationally recognised premium brand.

Who should apply?

The programme is aimed at young South Africans who meet the following requirements:

• Are between the ages of 18 and 34.
• Have completed a relevant qualification in one of the advertised fields of study.
• Are currently unemployed.
• Have not previously participated in a YES4Youth programme.
• Are eager to learn, develop new skills and gain meaningful workplace experience.

Programme Location

Successful participants will be based at one of the following BMW Group South Africa locations in Gauteng:

• National Sales Company (NSC), Midrand.
• Financial Services , Midrand
• Plant Rosslyn, Pretoria.
• BMW IT Hub, Menlyn.

Qualifications and Fields of Study

Applicants must hold a relevant university degree, National Diploma, Diploma or Certificate in one of the following fields:

• Finance, Accounting and Economics: Finance, Accounting, Financial Management, Taxation, Economics, Banking or Internal Auditing. A BCom in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline. An Honours degree or Postgraduate Diploma in Taxation will be advantageous for taxation-related opportunities.
• Business Administration and Management: Business Administration, Business Management, Commerce, General Management or a related discipline.
• Engineering and Technical Disciplines: Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Mechatronics, Metallurgical or Quality Engineering (BSc, BEng, BTech or relevant National Diploma).
• Automotive and Electrical Trades: Motor Mechanic, Transportation Electrician or relevant automotive and electrical technical qualifications.
• Supply Chain, Logistics and Operations Management: Supply Chain Management, Logistics Management, Operations Management, or a related discipline.
• Information Technology and Computer Science: Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, IT Operations, IT Infrastructure, Information Security, Software Development, Web Development, Front-End Development or related IT qualifications. Relevant Java, SAP and ABAP certifications will be advantageous for applicable opportunities.
• Data Science and Analytics: Data Science, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Information Systems or related analytical disciplines.
• Human Resources and Industrial Psychology: Human Resource Management, BCom in Human Resource Management, Industrial Psychology or a related discipline.
• Marketing, Communications and Media: Marketing, Digital Marketing, Communications, Media Studies, Journalism or a Bachelor of Arts in Communications.
• Product Management and Digital Design: Product Management, User Experience (UX) Design, User Interface (UI) Design, Graphic Design, Web Development or Front-End Development.
• Risk Management, Insurance and Law: Risk Management, Insurance, LLB, BCom Law or a related qualification in Law or Risk Management.
• Occupational Health and Safety: Safety Management, Occupational Health and Safety, Occupational Safety Management or a related discipline.
