Curro Hermanus in Hermanus invites applications for a part-time YES Programme Candidate: Sport starting January 2027. This stipend-based opportunity targets energetic, unemployed youth aged 18–34 with a background in sports management, coaching, or physical education.

The role entails assisting coaching, event setup, and learner engagement within Curro’s values-driven environment. The contract runs for 12 months and is based at Curro Hermanus.

Qualifications

• South African youth between 18 and 34 years old.
• Must be previously unemployed.
• Qualification in Sports Management, Coaching, Physical Education, or a related field.
• Living close to the Curro school you’re applying for.
• Available and willing to work a fixed term 12-month contract.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Coaching Sessions and planning.
• Encourage Learner Participation & Motivation.
• Event & Fixture Support for matches, tournaments, and festivals.
• Team Management Assistance: attendance, results, dress and prep.
• Community & Parent Engagement: communicate fixtures, results and events.
• Coach Development: attend training workshops and apply new skills.
• Administration Support: respond to emails, update schedules, maintain records.
• Promote Curro’s ethos and values through professional behaviour.

Key performance areas

Assist with Coaching Sessions Support senior coaches in planning and running practices, ensuring learners are engaged and improving their skills.

Learner Participation & Motivation Encourage learners to attend practices and matches, building enthusiasm and team spirit.

Event & Fixture Support Help with setting up sports fields, equipment, and logistics for matches, tournaments, and festivals.

Team Management Assistance Assist with tracking attendance, recording results, and ensuring learners are correctly dressed and prepared.

Community & Parent Engagement Support communication of fixtures, results, and events to parents and the school community.

Coach Development Learn from experienced coaches, attend training workshops, and apply new skills to improve coaching ability.

Administration Support Help with basic admin tasks such as responding to emails, updating schedules, and maintaining records.

School Ethos & Values Promote Curro’s ethos and values through professional behaviour, reliability, and teamwork.

Qualifications, experience and skills

• South African youth between 18 and 34 years old.
• Must be previously unemployed.
• The range starts from R 5 241,00 - R 6 000,00
• Qualification in Sports Management, Coaching, Physical Education, or a related field.
• Living close to the Curro school you’re applying for.
• Available and willing to work a fixed term 12-month contract
• Energetic, reliable, and team-oriented.
