BIOVAC is one of the leading sterile vaccine manufacturers rooted in Africa, with our core purpose being to "protect life". We are looking to hire a dynamic, passionate, confident, proactive and meticulous CIMA Graduate (Fixed Term Contract - 24 Months) to join a goal‑oriented team.

Purpose of the role:
  • The role of a CIMA Graduate is to ensure that Biovac and all its subsidiaries are aligned to best practice for revenue analysis, inventory management, costing principles and financial planning and analysis.
  • The role supports the business partners in ensuring financial alignment within the business, particularly between commercial and finance.
Qualifications Needed:
  • Financial or Management Accounting Diploma or degree.
  • CIMA registered preferable. Other relevant certifications will also be considered.

Key Duties & Responsibilities of the Role:
Duties and Responsibilities
Financial accounting and reporting
  • Assist with month‑end close activities including preparation of journals, updating loan schedules and reconciliations for key balance sheet accounts.
  • Support the preparation of Annual Financial Statements and related working papers.
  • Perform VAT and tax compliance tasks, including data collation for SARS submissions.
  • Maintain and update fixed asset registers and assist with asset verification exercises.
  • Contribute to internal control testing and documentation updates.
  • Assist with audit deliverables, including compiling schedules and responding to queries.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives within the Finance team.
Cost & Financial analysis
  • Conduct internal cost analysis of quality vs. cost and recommend actions.
  • Gross margin analysis on specific products.
  • Perform daily & monthly requirements to maintain standard costing within SAP
  • Review and analyse variances through purchasing and production.
  • Monthly stock reporting and stock takes.
Project Management & Support
  • Support finance projects as required including supporting business case, rolling out new Business Processes and seeking operational efficiencies.
  • Assist the commercial finance business partner with financial, commercial and analytical support for the sales & support functions.
General responsibilities
  • Assist the Financial Business Partners with ad‑hoc tasks as per deadlines and work scope given.
  • Fraud awareness
  • Adherence to the systems and guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external role players.
  • Adhere to SARS legislation on all processing.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Advocate continual improvement and teamwork within the department.
  • Responsibility to complete training & keep knowledge up to date.
