A transport company in South Africa is seeking x2 dedicated and safety-conscious Assistant Truck Drivers to support primary drivers in the safe delivery of hazardous materials. Qualifications

  • Minimum Grade 10 (Matric preferred).
  • Valid South African driver's license - Minimum Code 10.
  • Professional Driving Permit (PD) – required.
  • Hazchem / Dangerous Goods certificate – essential.
  • Previous experience in hazardous goods handling or transport – advantageous.
  • Good knowledge of safety protocols and emergency procedures.
  • Physically fit, reliable, and willing to work flexible hours.
  • Medically fit with excellent communication and multitasking abilities.

We are looking for x2 dedicated and safety‑conscious Assistant Truck Drivers to join our hazardous goods transport team in the Western Cape.

The successful candidates will support the primary drivers in the safe and compliant delivery of hazardous materials, ensuring adherence to all Hazchem, health & safety, and road transport regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the driver with pre‑trip, en‑route, and post‑trip inspections of Hazchem vehicles.
  • Support the safe loading, securing, and unloading of hazardous materials according to legislation.
  • Ensure strict compliance with Hazchem and Dangerous Goods regulations.
  • Monitor and maintain safety equipment (spill kits, fire extinguishers, PPE, etc.).
  • Assist with delivery paperwork, logbooks, and Hazchem documentation.
  • Act as support in emergency response situations such as spills, leaks, or accidents.
  • Uphold company safety policies and contribute to a strong safety‑first culture.
