Job summary

A leader in the food and beverage industry is seeking a Workshop Technician - Millwright in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will ensure the efficiency of the workshop through troubleshooting and maintaining complex machinery. A Trade Tested Millwright with over 5 years of experience and strong electrical skills is required. This is a permanent, on-site position offering the opportunity to work with minimal supervision and directly assist customers.

Qualifications

  • 5 years+ working experience within a related field.
  • Experience within Food and Beverage would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshooting and repair of complex machinery.
  • Reading and understanding manuals, blueprints, and diagrams.
  • Running trials on equipment and interpreting results.
  • Undertaking installation and training on equipment.
  • Writing reports based on findings and service.
  • Performing routine maintenance on complex equipment.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and use technical judgment.
  • Prompt assistance to customers with queries.
  • Maintaining safety standards both in-house and at customer sites.

Our client, a leader in the food and beverage industry, is seeking a Workshop Technician - Millwright to join their team. The successful candidate will assist in ensuring the efficiency and productivity of the workshop.

Qualifications
  • Matric or equivalent NQF
  • Must be a Trade Tested Millwright with strong electrical / instrumentation
  • 5 years+ working experience within a related field
  • Experience within Food and Beverage would be an advantage
  • Planning, organising and time management skills
Responsibilities
  • Troubleshooting and repair of complex machinery in a professional / timely manner
  • Reading and understanding manuals / blueprints / diagrams / mechanical schematics and electrical diagrams
  • Running trials / tests on equipment and interpreting the result into further recommendations
  • Undertaking installation / commissioning / training on equipment
  • Writing up reports based on findings / service on equipment
  • Performing routine maintenance on complex equipment at site or in the workshop
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and use technical judgement on complex tasks
  • Prompt assistance / advice to customers with queries / breakdowns in an appropriate manner
  • Ensure customers’ expectations are exceeded in respect to quality and service
  • Respond immediately to requests for workshop breakdowns to customers
  • Action customer services as per schedule
  • Analyse the cause of the problem
  • Arrange quotations for customers to authorise repairs
  • Ensure arranged and required spares to complete the job are available
  • Maintain safety standards both at in-house and at customers
  • Form part of the standby team
