Requirements

• Trade qualification (Fitter & Turner, Millwright, or equivalent) essential.
• Proven experience in gearbox and transmission overhauls
• Strong background in vacuum pumps, pumps, blowers, motors, and rotating equipment advantageous.
• Basic electrical and PLC / HMI troubleshooting knowledge.
• Experience with ERP / job tracking and reporting.
• Supervisory / leadership experience in a workshop environment.
• Bonus : Mechanical Engineering diploma / degree.
• Bonus : Project management experience.
• A natural problem-solver with strong technical know-how.
• A leader who can manage people and projects, while rolling up their sleeves to get the job done. Hands‑on is a must.
• Customer-focused, with strong communication and relationship‑building skills.

Responsibilities

• Overhaul transmissions and gearboxes (critical), including blowers and larger turbo blowershands‑on involvement required.
• Supervise technicians during repairs and maintenance of pumps, vacuum pumps, blowers, and other rotating equipment.
• Ensure efficient workflows, accurate job card reporting, and ERP system usage.
• Ensure compliance with OHS and BCEA regulations in the workshop.
• Support customers and sales teams with technical problem‑solving, building lasting relationships.
• Lead, motivate, and mentor workshop staff, ensuring quality, efficiency, and compliance.
