Position Purpose

The Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Trainee Programme aims to provide recently qualified apprentices (with a red seal) with practical work experience allowing them to apply their academic and vocational or practical knowledge in a real‑world environment. This programme is designed to enhance participants' employability by offering hands‑on training, mentorship, and exposure to industry‑specific tasks. The WIL trainee programme is conducted over a period of 24 months.

Position Outputs
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in good condition.
  • Document work performed and report to supervisors.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Motor Mechanic Trade Test Certificate.
  • Trade tested within the past 4 years.
  • Youth between 18 and 35 years.
  • Less than 1 year’s experience.
Competencies
  • Beginner: Basic understanding of tools and safety procedures.
  • Intermediate: Ability to perform tasks independently with minimal supervision.
  • Advanced: Expert‑level skills, capable of supervising and training others.
