Job summary

Boardroom Appointments is seeking a WordPress Developer who can pair design with strong technical ability. You will work on building responsive WordPress themes, and develop custom PHP modules and plugins while maintaining clean code.

Collaboration with other teams, time management, and a willingness to learn are essential as you contribute to evolving our systems and exploring new technologies for feasible solutions.

Qualifications

• 3+ years WordPress and web development experience
• Strong responsive design and mobile-first approach
• Strong portfolio of work
• Clean coding practices
• CSS/CSS3, HTML5, PHP
• Experience with Git and MySQL
• WooCommerce experience
• Ability to build a responsive template from PSD
• Familiar with child themes and plugin customization
• Experience across CMS platforms (Drupal/Joomla/Umbraco) and Macintosh work
• SEO and UX understanding

Duties and responsibilities:

• Ability to work in a team
• Good at pro-actively identify and implement new ideas/solutions
• Planning, structuring and configuring WordPress systems
• Developing custom PHP modules, themes and plugins for WordPress
• Improving the quality and functionality of our existing systems
• Monitoring and analysing our software under real-world, production conditions
• Evaluating new technologies for their feasibility and usefulness
• Collaborating with other development teams and freelancers
• Continually growing, learning, and sharing as we strive to keep pushing our technical boundaries
• Manage your own time well and meet deadlines

Qualifications and experience:

• 3+ years WordPress experience and web development experience
• Good understanding of responsive web design and a mobile first approach to development
• Strong portfolio of work
• Clean coding methods
• Skillset must include:
• CSS/CSS3 for front end templating
• HTML 5
• PHP
• Adobe Photoshop / Adobe Illustrator
• SEO and UX understanding
• Experience with:
• Subversion (Git)
• Database administration (MySQL)
• Must be able to code own responsive template from PSD
• Able to manipulate plugins to perform required functions (mentioning examples will
  be beneficial)
• Experience using child themes and familiar plugins
• Building new WordPress sites/systems from scratch (including themes and plugins)
• Ability to work on Macintosh computer
• Understanding of different CMS platforms such as Drupal, Joomla and Umbraco
• You have an appreciation for testing and automation.
