The Role

Wet Services Project Engineer

This role involves contributing to the design, coordination, and delivery of wet services engineering solutions across various projects. While the guidelines outlined below serve as a framework for the role, they are not exhaustive and may evolve based on project needs and organizational priorities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform full plumbing and drainage designs in accordance with SANS.
  • Knowledge of British codes and related plumbing and drainage applications advantageous.
  • Generate theoretical designs, project budgets, valuation certificates and cost reports.
  • Generate tender documents, specifications measurements, Bills of Quantities (BOQ's) and compile JBCC-based tender documents.
  • Attend site visits, meetings and perform any actions arising therefrom.
  • Model SHEQ performance standards, contribute to SHEQ risk identification and processes to achieve Zero Harm.
Qualifications and Experience Required
  • BSc or BTech in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • 3‑5 years of experience in Wet Services Design and project management.
  • MEPF Building services experience highly advantageous.
  • Candidate engineer with ECSA registration highly advantageous.
  • Professional registration with ECSA highly advantageous.
  • Experience with Autodesk software such as Revit and AutoCAD advantageous.
  • Experience with Bluebeam advantageous.
  • Solid knowledge of SANS and supplemental knowledge of the equivalent CIBSE / BS / ASPE codes highly advantageous.
  • Solid and demonstrated experience in project budgets, valuation certificates and cost reports.
  • Solid and demonstrated experience in tender documents, measurement of Bills of Quantities (BOQ's) and compiling JBCC-based tender documents.
Key Competencies and Generic Skills
  • Must be mobile and have own transport.
  • Effective communication skills (written and oral) fluency in English essential.
  • Ability to travel to remote project sites as required.
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally.
