Job description

The RoleWe are seeking a skilled and motivated Wet Services Project Engineer to join our dynamic team.

This role involves contributing to the design, coordination, and delivery of wet services engineering solutions across various projects.

While the guidelines outlined below serve as a framework for the role, they are not exhaustive and may evolve based on project needs and organizational priorities.

Key Responsibilities

The key responsibilities are to perform a full project engineering scope, which includes:

  • Performing full plumbing and drainage designs in accordance with SANS and SANS.
  • Knowledge of British codes and applying related to plumbing and drainage advantageous.
  • Perform theoretical design.
  • Generating project budgets, generating and managing valuation certificates and cost reports.
  • Generating tender documents, specifications, measuring and producing Bills of Quantities (B.O.Q's) and compiling JBCC-based tender documents; attendance of site visits and meetings and performing any actions arising therefrom.

Contributing to the identification of SHEQ risks and driving processes to achieve Zero Harm. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
  • BSc or BTech in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited University.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in Wet Services Design and project management.
  • MEPF Building services experience highly advantageous.
  • Candidate engineer with ECSA.
  • Professionally registered with ECSA highly advantageous.
  • Autodesk software experience such as Revit and AutoCAD Software experience advantageous.
  • Bluebeam experience advantageous.
  • Solid knowledge of SANS.
  • Supplemental knowledge of the equivalent CIBSE / BS / ASPE codes highly advantageous.
  • Solid and demonstrated experience in project budgets, valuation certificates and cost reports.
  • Solid and demonstrated experience in tender documents, measuring of Bills of Quantities (BOQ's) and compiling JBCC-based tender documents.
KEY COMPETENCIES AND GENERIC SKILLS
  • Must be mobile and have own transport.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Effective communication skills (written and oral) fluency in English essential.
  • Ability to travel to remote project sites as required.
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally.
