Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a meticulous Well Integrity Engineer to oversee the safety and reliability of wells in our client’s portfolio, based in Queenstown. This role focuses on preventing hydrocarbon leaks and protecting the subsurface environment through robust integrity management.

You will develop and implement well integrity management systems, conduct risk assessments, and monitor well performance, with a mix of on-site inspections and remote analysis in a hybrid setup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years in well integrity or well engineering.
• Strong understanding of design, construction, completion, and abandonment principles.
• Proficiency in well integrity software and data analysis tools.
• Knowledge of API RP 5C5, ISO 16530-1 standards and regulatory requirements.

Our client is seeking a meticulous Well Integrity Engineer to oversee the safety and reliability of wells in their portfolio, with a base in Queenstown . This role is paramount for ensuring that wells are designed, constructed, and operated in a manner that prevents leakage of hydrocarbons and protects the subsurface environment. You will be responsible for developing and implementing well integrity management systems, conducting risk assessments, and monitoring well performance. This hybrid role allows for remote analysis and planning, coupled with essential on-site inspections and collaboration with field operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement well integrity management systems (WIMS) in compliance with regulations.
• Conduct risk assessments to identify potential well integrity failures and develop mitigation strategies.
• Monitor well performance using pressure data, production logs, and inspection reports.
• Specify and oversee well intervention activities, including workovers and repairs.
• Ensure proper design, installation, and maintenance of well barriers (casing, cement, completion components).
• Investigate well integrity incidents, determine root causes, and recommend corrective actions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in well integrity or well engineering roles.
• Strong understanding of well design, construction, completion, and abandonment principles.
• Proficiency in well integrity software and data analysis tools.
