Job summary

FirstRand Group in South Africa seeks a Wealth Management Support Analyst to deliver structured administrative and operational support to Wealth Managers. You will coordinate with internal teams and external providers, maintain effective client relationships, and help control costs through adherence to SOPs and budgets, ensuring accurate service delivery and risk management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Business Management.
  • Postgraduate qualification (e.g., Honours, PGDip, CFA) is advantageous.
  • RE5 certification in financial analysis or related tools is desirable.

Job description

Job Description Deliver structured administrative and operational support to Wealth Managers by performing tasks aligned with standard operating procedures. Maintain effective client relationships and coordinate with internal teams and external service providers to ensure consistent service quality and operational efficiency. Control costs through awareness of impact of work and potential waste. Manage own costs and expenses associated with role to enhance cost effectiveness. Identify and escape potential risks which may lead to increased costs. Adhere to standards and procedures to reduce costs. Identify process improvements in order to save costs. Adhere to predetermined operational costing within budgets in the execution of projects and work-related expenditure. Ensure that physical resources and equipment usage is managed in a manner that reduce financial loss and/or waste. Manage internal stakeholders and adhere to relevant SLA agreements. Cultivate and manage objective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including end-users, SME’s, project managers and senior staff members. Build and sustain collaborative working relationships with relevant peers and stakeholders in order to achieve productivity synergies. Maintain and build relationships for purposes of expectation management, knowledge sharing and integration. Continuously strive to improve service delivery quality, productivity, turnaround time, availability, reliability and accuracy to avoid operational loss. Resolve client queries in accordance with operational goals and standards and elevate problematic queries to the correct level to ensure prompt and effective resolution, enhancing the client experience. Propose improvements on internal processes that impacts service levels and customer satisfaction within area of accountability. Serve as first line of contact for clients and manage customer interactions. Accurately administer, plan for and complete activities within area of work in an efficient, effective and timely manner. Adhere to schedules to effectively and timely perform assigned work. Attend (and facilitate) meetings as and when required; maintain documentation and share information with the team. Deliver work in an accurate manner to ensure consistent results within department. Draw on own knowledge and experience to identify and develop solutions that leads to improved service delivery and quality. Remain accountable for your own work (the exercise of judgement and discretion) in accordance with the organisational values and code of ethics. Comply with and adhere to identified governance and compliance standards and accelerate problems for investigation and resolution. Continuously identify and esckale risk. Provide timely reports on operations, performance and audit findings. Report on transactional activity progression within set guidelines to provide timely information for decision making in area of accountability. Plan and organise own tasks to make sure that performance objectives are met. Identify effective activities to address own development gaps. Create own development plan and review plan with team leader or manager. Understand which competencies and skills are required to be mastered to enforce personal development and performance. Keep abreast of learning opportunities, changing products and trends.

Education & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in: Finance Accounting Economics Business Management Advantageous: Postgraduate qualification (e.g., Honours, PGDip, CFA) RE5 Certifications in financial analysis, data tools, or investments

Work Experience

3–5 years in: Wealth management Investment analysis Financial services Experience working with: Advisors / portfolio managers High-net-worth client environments Exposure to: Market analysis Client portfolios Financial reporting
