Job description
Overview

Agreenco Environmental Projects (Pty) Ltd. is looking for motivated and skilled Water Engineers to join our Technical Business Unit.

Water Engineers at Agreenco deliver innovative environmental solutions by leveraging their technical expertise and strong project management skills to ensure the successful execution of high-quality projects.

Positions

Two positions are available for qualified Water Engineers – Water Engineer and Water Team Lead. Reporting level: Unit Manager (Engineering). Preferred Starting Date: 1 December.

Responsibilities
  • Key responsibilities: Financial Planning – Aligns tactical plans for own areas of responsibility to achieve revenue and profit targets.
  • People Coaching – Mentoring and coaching associates and relevant people to build skills and productivity.
  • Marketing – Implements the marketing strategy to ensure client base growth, awareness in the market of services offered and to grow the business and increase revenue.
  • Project Management – Provides unique and quality‑assured environmental solutions to clients through environmental consulting to ensure services are provided, deliverables and client expectations are managed and met.
  • Engineering Project Management (Capital Projects) – Support and execute complex engineering projects from inception to completion to ensure project objectives and client satisfaction are achieved.

  • Risk and HSEQ – Oversee and ensure compliance of health, safety, environmental and quality outputs for the Water Unit.
  • The ideal incumbent of the position will have the following profile: Master of Engineering in Water, Chemical or Environmental Engineering (Preferred); or BEng or BEng Hons. in Chemical, Civil or Environmental Engineering.
Qualifications
  • Strong technical background in: Integrated mine water management.
  • Sewage and effluent treatment project design and support.
  • Bioreactor and active water treatment project design and support.
  • Engineering project management (including refurbishment projects).
  • Water management solutions.
  • Water conservation and water demand management.
  • Wetlands.
  • Water bioremediation.
  • Water active treatment.
  • Hydraulic design (irrigation).
  • QA / QC Management.
  • Engineering design, commissioning and project management.
  • Must be able to oversee installation / commissioning of plants, often for extended periods in outdoor environments.
  • Clear criminal record.
  • 5 years relevant water engineering & technical experience, including a minimum of 3 years' relevant project management experience, preferably in the mining and consulting industries.
  • ECSA registered or eligible and willing to register.
  • Able to pass medicals, inductions and training certifications.
  • Valid driver's license and willing to travel.
  • Valid Passport.
