Job summary

A leading engineering consultancy in South Africa seeks an experienced Electro-Mechanical Engineer. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of consulting experience in wastewater treatment design. Responsibilities include designing mechanical systems for wastewater plants and ensuring quality assurance during projects. Candidates with a BSc/BEng/BTech in a relevant field and ECSA registration are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' consulting experience in wastewater treatment design and execution.
• Proven expertise in mechanical design for wastewater facilities.
• Electro-mechanical design experience advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design and specify mechanical systems and equipment for wastewater plants.
• Develop BOQs, datasheets, specification and commissioning documentation.
• Review contractor designs, manage QA / QC and oversee commissioning.
• Provide expert consultancy and prepare detailed project deliverables.
• Drive continuous improvement through standardized tools, templates and workflows.

• Eng / Pr.TechEng registration with ECSA (preferred or eligible)

Experience

• Minimum 3 years' consulting experience in wastewater treatment design and execution

Core Competencies

• Proven expertise in mechanical design for wastewater facilities (pumps, aeration, mixers, clarifiers, chlorination)
• Electro-mechanical design experience advantageous
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
