Introduction
Our client, a fresh food manufacturing facility is looking to recruit a Warehouse Supervisor to join their team in Killarney Gardens
Duties & Responsibilities
- Supervise the receiving process of raw fish, packaging materials, and other inbound goods. Ensure all incoming products are checked against delivery notes, purchase orders, and quality standards.
- Oversee the correct labelling, temperature verification, and storage of goods in designated cold rooms or dry stores. Report and isolate any damaged, expired, or non-conforming stock for QA review.
- Manage the preparation and dispatch of customer or inter-site orders according to schedule and specification. Verify product traceability and documentation (batch numbers, expiry dates, temperatures, etc.) before dispatch.
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly stock counts to ensure accuracy in ERP or manual inventory systems. Investigate and reconcile stock variances promptly. Maintain stock rotation using FIFO / FEFO principles.
- Supervise, train, and motivate warehouse personnel to ensure efficient performance. Maintain a safe and clean working environment in compliance with food safety, HACCP, and occupational safety regulations. Ensure temperature monitoring and cold-chain integrity are maintained throughout operations.
- Participate in internal and external audits (QMS, food safety, or customer). Report incidents, near misses, and non-conformances, and implement corrective actions. Work closely with the production, quality, and logistics teams to align warehouse activities with production schedules.
- Monitor warehouse performance metrics (receiving turnaround time, dispatch accuracy, downtime). Implement continuous improvement initiatives for space utilization, stock flow, and cost control. Produce daily, weekly, and monthly reports on stock, manpower, and operational issues.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Grade 12 (Matric) – essential.
- Certification and/or qualification in supply chain.
- Minimum 3–5 years' experience in a warehouse supervisory role, preferably in the FMCG environment.
- Strong understanding of cold-chain logistics, stock control systems, and food safety requirement.
- Experience using ERP / Syspro, SAP, or similar.
