Job description

Our Client in the Manufacturing Industry is seeking to employ a Warehouse Supervisor (Sales and Marketing) to their team based in Cape Town.

Requirements
  • Diploma in Warehousing, Logistics, Supply Chain, Procurement, or a related field (NQF-Level 5).
  • Up to 5 years’ experience in warehousing, inventory and stock control, logistics, supply chain, or procurement within a manufacturing environment.
  • 1 to 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, SAP, ERP systems, and other job‑specific software.
  • Knowledge of warehousing, logistics, and planning processes and best practices.
Responsibilities, but not limited to:
Warehousing Operations
  • Oversee and ensure successful weekly cycle counts of stock.
  • Ensure monthly stock takes with production and support department teams.
  • Ensure FIFO (First In, First Out) and LOS (Line of Sight) principles are applied during storage and issuing of stock within the area of responsibility.
  • Investigate stock variances and exceptions and implement corrective action plans.
  • Continuously review procedures pertaining to stock control to improve efficiency and minimize risk.
  • Liaise with Planning to verify receipts and issued goods, as well as semi‑finished components and products.
  • Ensure all products received for storage are accurately coded, compliant with procedures, and stored in designated areas.
  • Ensure non‑conforming products are processed according to procedures and that scrap is removed daily.
  • Control damaged stock in WIP (Work In Progress), investigate causes, and take corrective action.
  • Ensure adherence to consignment stock procedures when collecting consignment stock.
  • Create and maintain work instructions.
  • Keep abreast of developing technologies in inventory control.
Administration, Systems, and Reporting
  • Ensure database information integrity is always maintained on SAP.
  • Process and record credit notes, ensuring proper approvals are obtained.
  • Capture returned rotations accurately on the system.
  • Record and file invoice documentation for tracking purposes.
  • Update checks and charges spreadsheets.
  • Capture scrap differences and maintain accurate records.
  • Ensure stationery, protective clothing, and gear are ordered timeously.
  • Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly health and safety check sheets are completed and incidents reported to HR.
Compliance and Customer Service
  • Operate within established controls and procedures to ensure operational integrity.
  • Identify and report risks or areas of concern to management.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and internal procedures.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations within the warehouse.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Represent the department in meetings with relevant stakeholders.
  • Identify and resolve problems creatively while demonstrating integrity and professionalism.
Staff Supervision
  • Ensure all employees have signed performance agreements.
  • Conduct quarterly performance appraisals and monitor employee performance.
  • Identify staff performance objectives, development areas, and action plans in collaboration with HR.
  • Facilitate ongoing training and development of employees.
  • Address employee relations matter promptly and fairly.
Cost and Financial Control
  • Contribute to the budget preparation process.
  • Promote efficient, economical, and transparent use of financial and material resources.
  • Monitor and control expenditure against budget and report deviations to management.
  • Identify and implement cost‑saving initiatives.
