Job summary

Aramex in Cape Town is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor to oversee daily warehouse operations, supervise staff, and ensure accurate storage, handling and distribution of goods.

You will focus on reducing costs, maintaining safety standards, and meeting client SLAs while coordinating with account managers and clients on operational requests.

Qualifications

• Matric (Grade 12) required.
• Tertiary qualification advantageous.
• Minimum 3 years supervisory experience in a warehouse.

Job description

Oversee and manage daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficient and accurate storage, handling, and distribution of goods. This position involves supervising warehouse staff, implementing safety and operational procedures, and optimizing inventory management processes. The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for maintaining a well-organized and safe work environment, monitoring performance metrics, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations. Ultimately, this role aims to enhance productivity, minimize operational costs, and ensure timely delivery of products to meet customer demands.

Job Description

• Management of internal teams to ensure productivity targets are met in line with customer SLA and internal procedures
• Manage customer relationships
• Reporting on performance and improvement metrics
• Support account managers nationally
• Ensuring that the service level agreement of the clients are adhered to
• Control and supervision of staff in the warehouse department
• Liaise with the client on a daily basis with regards to any operational requests andrequirements
• Ensure proper receipt of all goods into the warehouse via. electronic means (andmanually where required)
• Assist with and control the ‘break bulk’ function and proper marking of items and storage within the warehouse
• Ensure that proper stock records are kept and that goods are rotated on F.I.F.O or F.E.F.O basis
• Take stock and cycle counts as often as agreed with customer. Report to management
• Responsible for stock accuracy
• Ensure proper security is in place so that no unauthorised persons have access to the warehouse
• Ensure that all health and safety procedures are being adhered to by operational staff and visitors
• Ensure that all client orders are dispatched as per the service level agreement
• Ensuring that all client files are updated
• Ensure an accurate account of all Client’s stock at all times
• Ensure that housekeeping is maintained within allocated areas

Job Requirements - Experience and Education

• Matric (Grade 12)
• Relevant tertiary qualification would be advantageous
• A minimum of 3 years Supervisory experience within an Warehouse environment
