Job summary

Warehouse Operator

Reporting to : Operations

Seniority Level : Mid-Career (2 - 3 yrs exp)

Type : FTC position, initially 6 months with prospects of renewal

Duties and Responsibilities
Receiving Stock
  • Receive delivery documents from drivers upon arrival.
  • Inspect incoming stock for signs of infestation, moisture, mould, or any damages.
  • Ensure stock is properly labelled (where applicable) and palletised.
  • Offload stock using a forklift, following proper handling and safety protocols.
  • Weigh bags and record necessary information as directed by management.
  • Sample all local inbound stock and mark samples clearly with batch details.
  • Complete and sign the Goods Received Note (GRN) after stock offloading.
Despatching Stock
  • Inspect stock based on Loading Out Instruction (LOI) for quality.
  • Prepare stock for despatch following LOI.
  • Ensure all products are palletised and handle with safety protocols.
  • Complete Goods Despatched Note (GDN) and outgoing inspection report.
Quality Assurance
  • No broken / damaged pallets allowed for storage or despatch.
  • Regular visual inspections of pallets and stock.
  • Report any issues immediately and ensure local stock sampling and testing.
Re-bagging
  • Maintain traceability records for re-bagged stock.
  • Report any issues during re-bagging process.
  • Ensure accurate final weight on re-bagged product labels.
Stock Organization
  • Store products for easy visibility and accessibility.
  • Conduct weekly stock counts and submit reports.
  • Count and confirm empty pallets and bags weekly.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent qualification essential
  • Valid Forklift Licence mandatory
  • Minimum 2 years experience working in a Warehouse / Cold Storage environment
  • Minimum 2 years experience operating a forklift
  • Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
  • Physically fit and able to work in a fast-paced environment, including cold storage conditions
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work shifts / overtime when required
