Job summary

A logistics and operations consultancy is seeking a Warehouse and Operations Leader in Johannesburg. This role requires leading the fit-out and commissioning of a bonded warehouse, managing daily operations, and ensuring compliance with bonded warehouse standards. Candidates should have 8-12 years of logistics/warehousing experience and strong qualifications in logistics or supply chain. Proficiency in WMS/ERP systems and leadership skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 8-12 years in logistics/warehousing with bulk commodity experience.
• Proven experience in warehouse fit-out/commissioning and bulk handling equipment.
• Knowledge of bonded warehouse/customs procedures.

Responsibilities

• Lead fit-out and commissioning of the bonded warehouse.
• Develop SOPs for bulk receiving, sampling, and packing.
• Train and manage warehouse staff.

Skills

Inventory management by weight/lot/grade sampling and QA procedures

Health & Safety expertise for bulk warehouse environments

Strong vendor management

Commercial acumen with P&L responsibility

Excellent leadership and problem-solving skills

Education

Tertiary qualification in Logistics, Engineering, Supply Chain or related field

Tools

WMS/ERP software for lot/grade/weight tracking
