  • Ensure completion and closure of claims related to stock losses.
  • Check stock accuracy on purchase return orders.
  • Compile SKU expiry reports as requested.
  • Ensure continuous development and up-to-date industry knowledge.

Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated and results-driven Warehouse Manager Assistant to join our team at Meridian Wine Distribution in Brackenfell, Cape Town. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and able to thrive in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Strong communication skills, teamwork, and a commitment to operational excellence are essential.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure that physical notifications and instructions from the Procurement / Client Relationship Manager are actioned timeously and effectively.
  • Investigation and corrective action of any stock discrepancies identified includes identifying any procedural issues.
  • Should any procedural issues be identified during stock discrepancy investigations, a report needs to be sent to the Warehouse Manager for corrective action to take place.
  • Identification of training requirements due to procedural issues and communication and arrangement of this with HR, in collaboration with the WM.
  • Assist Finance with the operational requirements to support stock counts, which could include resource allocation and final close-off checks on transactions.
  • Ensure that all high variance items, reported by finance, are investigated and reported on, and provide feedback to the Warehouse Manager. This needs to take place on the same day that the report from finance is received.
  • Ensure that all bin maintenance issues or problems are escalated to the Warehouse Planner to resolve.
  • Ensure that all claims about stock losses related to breakage, accidents, hijacking, robberies, etc., are completed, processed, followed up on, and closed out.
  • Check the accuracy of quantity and condition of stock on all purchase return orders as per the purchase order request. Completed Purchase Return Order Request given to the Stock Controller.
  • Compilation of the SKU expiry report, per client, as and when requested by the Warehouse Manager.
  • Ensure that all open Nav transactions are cleared before cycle counts, and all physical movements are executed timeously before the above counts.
  • Provision of required reports as directed by the Warehouse Manager.
  • Ensure continuous development and up-to-date industry knowledge and competence.
  • Facilitate open and effective communication and promote cross-functional and cross-company collaboration thereby contributing towards a diverse and productive work environment.
  • Contribute towards informal succession planning and skills transfer within the team by, adopting a coaching and / or mentorship approach and teaching team members new learnings.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Grade 12.
  • Professional Qualification in Inventory Management and Warehouse Management Systems.
  • 2 years in FMCG Stock Control Environment.
  • Valid driver’s license and Own transport.
