Warehouse & Distribution Manager – KZN Region (Durban)

Join our dynamic team as a Warehouse & Distribution Manager, responsible for the full end-to-end management of all warehousing and distribution activities within the KZN region. This critical role provides logistics support to our branch operations, upholds the highest safety and compliance standards, and delivers world-class service in the freight forwarding sector.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all warehousing and distribution activities, ensuring strict compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Manage inventory control and all logistics processes, utilizing WMS and maintaining accuracy through regular audits.
- Lead, develop, and mentor large warehouse teams, fostering a culture of achievement and adherence to safety standards (OHS Act, HACCP, ISO).
- Ensure effective management of security service providers, site security, and all operational reporting.
- Maintain financial control through budgeting, cost management, and profitability of P&L.
- Manage facility maintenance and equipment servicing to maximize efficiency.
- Drive and manage new projects, continuous improvement initiatives, and technology upgrades within warehousing and logistics.
- Oversee bond store operations, customs compliance, and report accurately and in a timely fashion.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and suppliers, ensuring quality service delivery and effective problem-solving.
- Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics, including management of third-party transport and warehousing providers.
- Direct all transport team activities, ensuring KPI achievement and accurate billing.
Minimum Requirements
- Matric/Grade 12.
- Logistics and Supply Chain degree.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in warehousing, logistics, and specifically the freight forwarding industry.
- At least 5 years’ experience with WMS systems and clearing & forwarding.
- 3 years’ experience in fleet, transportation, bond store, and collateral management.
- 5 years’ experience in food, health, safety, and auditing.
- Experience managing large, complex teams with a track record of aligning and reporting on business performance.
- Strong project management, communication, and stakeholder relationship skills.
