Our client, a well-established logistics company, a proud member of a listed Group, seeks your warehousing experience to step into this Senior Management role.

Job Purpose:
  • Oversee daily operations, ensuring the efficient flow of goods from receipt to shipment.
  • Fully involved in managing inventory levels, co-ordinating an efficient team, enforcing safety protocols, and analysing data to improve performance.
  • Play a critical role in the full supply chain in ensuring products are stored correctly and delivered on time.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or Business, essential
  • Extensive experience in Warehouse Operations within a Supply Chain Management environment is essential
The Job:

Report to the General Manager:

  • Daily, monthly and medium-term planning of Warehouse Operations in the Durban facility in order to ensure that revenue levels and customs service is maximised whilst operating costs are minimised through effective resource planning and utilisation.
  • Monitor daily and weekly Warehouse volume forecasts.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any operational challenges that arise within the Warehouse Business Unit.
  • Anticipate fluctuations in cargo volumes/revenue to be earned and take necessary corrective action and plan resources.
  • Manage Warehouse Operational cost daily to ensure a lean operation in line with budget.
  • Institute, manage and monitor systems and controls with the Warehouse.
  • Maintain operational standards in keeping with client requirements, ensuring the safe handling of customers cargo within Warehouse.
  • Manage monthly and yearly Operational Costs by departments within Warehouse.
  • Prepare and furnish daily, weekly and monthly reports.
  • Ensure that invoicing is correctly and timeously raised and all records and contracts are maintained.
  • Ensure correct procurement process and procedures are followed, ensuring maximum costs savings.
  • Meet with suppliers regularly.
  • Manage, monitor and control Operational Costs relative to operational requirements with regard to the objective of a lean operation.
  • Manage customer queries that ensure customer retention.
  • Closely liaise with other Managers to improve synergies with various business units and other facilities in order to maximise revenue and profitably for the overall business.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with all Warehouse BU clients.
  • Minimise/resolve customer complaints.
  • Ensure that customers are provided with accurate information at all times.
  • Ensure that client requirements are communicated and understood at all levels of the Warehouse Operations.
  • Ensure clients standards and requirements are being maintained and improved through regular communication.
  • Ensure compliance with the Basic Conditions of Employment Act, Labour Relations Act, Occupational Health & Safety Act, etc.
