Job description
Introduction

Our client, who supplies food and meat products to the Catering, Restaurant and Hospitality Industries in the South Africa would like to appoint a Warehouse Manager at their plant in Montague Gardens.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Receiving – Ensure stock is received correctly
  • Oversee receiving area for stock counts, expiry dates and condition of stock
  • Stock Control – Damages to be minimised and stock losses to be less than 0,35% of turnover
  • Security – General security awareness and accountability as senior on site
  • Reporting – Record and report key performance indicators on a weekly and monthly basis
  • Logistics – Do it right the first time
  • Deliveries – on time and within budget
  • Weekly route scheduling per sales route
  • Customer service – done by Jumpers and make sure that Customer complaints are reported
  • Liaise with Fleet Manager on scheduled services, maintenance and breakdowns
  • Managing of Driver and Jumper issues
  • Daily primary logistics transportation planning and scheduling
  • Manage primary cost by applying least cost routing principals
  • Manage and maintain the transport system and related queries
  • Identify cost saving initiatives and implement solutions in conjunction with operations
  • Teamwork – Support department managers and co employees
  • Actively participate as a member of the team
  • Performing any other task, not specified herein, which from time to time may be assigned by the manager
  • Housekeeping and Safety Standards – Ensures that cleaning and housekeeping standards on equipment and work areas are maintained according to laid down standards and norms
  • Ensure Personal hygiene standards are maintained
  • Take reasonable care for own health and safety as well as the health and safety of others
  • Wear the correct PPE in accordance with the company policy and procedures
  • No interference or abuse of any health, safety and environmental welfare equipment
  • Keep work areas clean and free from hazards and risks
